Coca Cola is the most popular soft drink on the planet. And although it has a broad fan base, the syrupy, fizzy drink is not aligned with our current health-oriented lifestyles. When it comes to cocktails, though, Coke is more versatile than you think.
You might know the Cuba Libre, invented in Cuba during the country’s revolution, but rum is not the only Coke-compatible spirit. In Peru, people drink Piscola, the combination of the Pisco grape spirit and Coke. In Argentina, Coke is combined with the bitter Fernet liqueur to create a Fernet-cola. And don’t be surprised if you find people mixing Coke with red wine in Spain, they call it Calimoxo, and it’s delicious!
